Whipple, no question. They will have my business as long as they are in business. Great customer service, top notch product, good looks, awesome power. Get the standard kit and ask to have the speed limiter removed. Then, feel the need for more and upgrade to a smaller pully and larger MAF housing.

Hey man I'v always admired your truck; sorry for such a sissy girl question but would a whipple void my warentee?? I'v heard many different answers like no it wont if you have an authorized ford racing tech install it...but then I have heard that it mostlikely will but only if they prove that is messed up some factory part and voided it. Did u install your whipple yourself or what? thanks,
Chris

this is dead on the spot, some will cover it still other wont, however there is a law that states nothing voids warranty until it is directly proven to cause an issue, which is no all easy..

Weazel, whipple can calibrate for your tires and gears, you just need to let them know what size they are. They will send you a Ford Racing programmer that you simply plug into your PCM and it will download the tune once the install is complete.

BABA4488, you will be hard pressed to have warranty work done on your truck for anything powertrain or drivetrain after installing a supercharger. Since you can get the whipple's through Ford Racing now though, you could have the dealership install them and have a little more arguing power if something does fail on you. Roush is the only supercharger manufacturer that gives you a warranty that is sort of like the 3/36 from Ford, but it is not the same. They have caps on how much they will spend to fix warrantied items, and it is a long process from what I've been hearing over the years. Also, I didn't install the charger, I had Silver State Motorsports at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway do the install, then Whipple did the upgrades and tuning. Thanks for the compliments on the truck.

jmt, I look forward to seeing what STS puts out. I've been reading up on those turbo's and they look pretty impressive, especially STS. I wonder what took them so long to put a kit out though? Keep us updated!

As for th tunning to get more power then what is the "stock" Whipple tunes, who can do that? Whipple or a outside company? Also i currently have JBA Shorty headers is that gonna be a issue?

Whipple offers the kit in a few options. Black and Polished are the appearance options, Polished being much more expensive. They also offer a "tuner" kit, which is the same supercharger, just without the tune from Whipple/Ford Racing.

If you purchase the kit with the Whipple tune, they will request all of your pertinent information such as gear ratio, tire size, and you will definately want them to calibrate for your headers. Make sure to give them this info. I believe you can also request that the speed limiter be removed or raised as well, but they might have you sign a disclaimer.

I am pretty sure Whipple has an upgraded tune available for 10psi now, so you could ask them, or the company you purchase the blower from, to give you the tune for 10psi. They worked with my truck to help develop the new tune to run higher psi with a smaller pully. I knew they were going to hold off releasing it for a while until more kits were on the streets, but I think they have begun sending it out to a few people now. I'm not 100% certain on that though.

If you purchase the tuner kit, you will have to have a custom tune done, in which you might as well go all out and get the larger injectors, larger MAF, colder plugs and smaller pully. The tuner you choose will then have to factor all of your modifications and specs in while they are tuning it. Make sure whoever you have tune your truck does it on a dyno.

I don't mind the questions, I asked a thousand of them before I purchased a supercharger as well.

05RoushMarkLT, thank you once again, i think i will be happy with the standard black and use Whipple for the tunning. Im not trying to build a race truck..lol i still need a daily driver, but i also want my moneys worth if you know what i mean..... Do you know what our engine/tranny and rear ends are good up too in PSI amounts and horsepower/torque ratings? In you opinion will the Whipple 8 psi make good power with the 4.56 and 35's? Another question is the tune that Whipple supplies is it agressive or a mild street tune?

once again thank you very much for you help
Daniel
