edge problems, maybe . . .
lat;ey my ege hasn't been working all the time. sometimes ill start the truck and it'll just say evolution, then the guage screen will come up and stay blank, then 4/10 times it asks me to accept the hex code. wtf? is there a reason for this, and all of a sudden my fuel mileage is suffering. but it still shows what i have it set to each time i check it. could the unit itself be styarting to go out? i just reloaded the new software to it maybe 2 weeks ago and that didn't fix the problem. also the screen sometimes stays blank. anyone alse having similar issues and what did you do about it?
I'd call edge and see what they say. But it does sound like a connection problem. The only time it should ask you to accept the terms of agreement is when you unplug it and plug it back in.
When you said you updated it, did you update it to a release version and not a beta?

sounds like you have a weak battery. mine has done this a few times usually when i forget to turn something off in my truck over night. then when you go to start your truck it draws almost all the juice out of you battery so you edge acts like its just been unplugged and plugged back in.
Mine has done this 4 times in the last 2 weeks. I noticed that it is happening when it is warm the day before then extremly cold the next it acts up. I just unplug and replug and all is fine. I plan on calling Edge if it keeps doing this.
Received this message from Edge:
Yes, we have been seeing this with the colder weather. If the Evolution does not see enough voltage on power up it turns on in an unknown state. This is why once the truck is running, if you disconnect the Evo and reconnect it the unit should power up normally. Once the engine is running there is enough voltage coming from the alternator for the Evolution to power up normally. The engineers are working to see if there is something we can do for this, but there may be limitations to how the LCD can power up in colder conditions.

I ran into this problem few months back, first of all I had to reset all Edge Evo programs (took better part of the day, missed work-cause my didnt start) and NEW battery with HIGHER CCA. The former took care of the problem, I haven't had any issues since. We did have some cold night here in Pacific NorthWest this winter but so far so good.
thanks for the help guys. the weather in south la has been . . . well reidculous. its rains half the week and is either low 30's high 20's or in the 70's. god bless louisiana huh! lmfao.

Mines been doing the same thing when its old. One day, i turned the ignition on and everything was wacko. The 4x4 lights were flashing, the RPM was at 0 and no pressure. I unplugged the edge and a weird noise occured and the dash gauges started working again and all the lights dissapeared. Weird. on and off.
