White Dome Interior lights?

Does the plastic dome cover just pop off on the front and back of crewcabs or is there a trick? Lastly what kind of bulbs are they, I plan to run to Kragens/Autozone to check out what they have. I just bought white LED's to lighten up my lic. plate.

Josiah, Josiah, Josiah ... you should lose a 1000 post counts for not knowing this and/or not knowing how to search for it.

I swear I've seen the part number for the dome light bulb, but was unable to find it using various search strings. Perhaps others have the quick answer. I'd think it's just the basic "dome light" bulb that you'd find in any auto parts store. I guess you could get a number from there and then research the LED options.

a couple things
1) yes, you just pull the dome off.
2) dome bulbs are 578 and map lights are 906.

Lightbulb

I've had this mod knocked out for a while.

I'll try to "shed some light" on how you'll want to go about it.

First off, here are the STOCK bulb numbers

MAP LIGHT = 906
DOME LIGHT = 578 or Festoon 42MM - 44MM (they fit great)

What LED bulbs did I use?

I have tried LOTS of different LEDs, so my struggles will save you if you take the advice.
USE ONLY 1 Watt high power LEDs or higher. Stick with the high power LEDs for the best results.

Here are the pics…

MAP LIGHT = 2X1 Watt high power LEDs

DOME LIGHT = 2X1 Watt 42MM Festoon high power LEDs
http://cgi.ebay.com/1pc-Festoon-Dome...QQcmdZViewItem

Any questions please ask…

more pics comming...

Both in action:

Here is idea of the light it puts off.

The pictures where in TOTAL darkness of the garage.

Keep in mind my camera is older Cannon PowerShop A40.

PLEASE NOTE.
The camera just doesn't give the best results in this color temp or lighting.
The light I would say is VERY low glare and is wonderful at night. Easy on the eyes too.

Ok I have a question. In a supercrew do the lens just pop off like in a crew cab. Someone told me that since I have the rail system I have to do some disassembly?

lol Gordo ;]

And I'll take your advice and buy from the ebay links provided. However, the first link is a "very blue color output" listing. I'm going to look for the same in xenon white. Thanks guys. Also, the 906 LED's I cannot find on ebay. Is there a cross reference bulb I can look for? His first link was a link to another type bulb as well.

As for the pics, those are wonderful but the output doesn't look that great. I know it's in total darkness and I'm hoping your camera just struggles to capture the light our eyes can. Nice pics.

I just bought the festoon set, just need the additional map light. Please respond soon as I told him to wait on shipping until I order the next set.

Which seller did you go with? The link listed shows a London location (not something I want to hassle with).

opps! I corrected the ebay link to the RIGHT one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/V-LED...3327QQtcZphoto

Yes the camera sucks bad in ANY low lights and no flash.
The lighting seems to be a little dimmer maybe but not much. I really don't have any problems seeing at all though.

I am not sure if trucks with black seats should do this one either.

If anyone knows of a brighter LED... PLEASE chim in.

I brought these last night in an attempt to find something even brighter.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...8434&rd=1&rd=1

It still looks awesome though. Great WOW factor at first.

FYI on that seller ALL orders come from Japan Hong Kong .... you should expect to wait a month like I did.

Yes the 194 are SMALLER than the 906. So fittin' is not an issue.

906 = 921

Thanks, what about the other seller you listed; velocityleds_1? His feedback has alot of "fast shipping" in it.

Thanks for you help.

So I bought the V-LED one, and the 42MM Festoon, along with white license plate bulbs. A lot of money for a little effect hopefully I'm pleased. Thanks a ton guys I'll definitely let you know how it goes.
