Yea i got that scratch guard from moss because my father borrowed the truck one day and put a nice big dent right next to the handle on the tailgate so that was the easiest way to cover it up. I'll get it fixed at some point and remove the pad.

EDIT: after i checked out the gallery how do those lights mount up behind the grille, it looks like you fabbed something up?
I cut the tabs out of a sheet of aluminum. I forget the thickness of the sheet but I just cut out two tabs, drilled holes into the crossmember of the engine there, and then heated and bent the tabs until it had the arch I wanted. It was really simple actually.

no it is not. It's actually just the stupid sticker from the dealer that I never took off. From that angle it does look like a light though. Hmmm, might be an interesting project there???

the box was basically modeled after any type of box you can order from subwoofer companies that make the boxes that fit under the rear seats of our trucks. I just made a cardboard mold of how much room I had underneath the rear driver seat and how much room was under the middle rear seat. I then just made the box and had it extend from the driver rear seat under the middle portion and mounted the sub under the driverside and the amp under the middle. It would prolly just be easier to buy a pre-made box but I like to do most of the work on my own.

since you have done this mod, do you think I could fit 3 lights in there ( two on the side like you and one in the middle)? I havent spent much time in the engine compartment but it looks like one in the middle might block sensors or something?

I know the air bag sensor is in the middle along with one other one that I'm not sure what it is. Obv if you cover those up they probably will not function correctly, plus you run into the mounting of the tab issue. If you mount the tabs from the top like I did, the hood release hook will be in the way of mounting the tab directly in the middle of the compartment. I have seen many people on here who have lights behind their grills mount their tabs from different locations coming up from the bottom of the compartment that may be more faviorable to your idea. I still think you will be interfering with the proper functioning of the two sensors if you install a light in the middle of the grill though.
