Tailgate Protection

I would seriously recommend a tailgate protector for 04-07 trucks. My Dirtbike ramp slipped yesterday and my bike crushed a portion of the inside tailgate. I cant tell if I bent the whole gate, as the bedsides are slightly radiused, and the gate still closes. I did a little bodywork to get it back in shape, but I'm buying a protector to stiffen up this whole unit-its tin.

This is not my '03 gate by a long shot. Once again, the bean counters ensure that the truck will only hold beans.

what kind of dirtbike ramp do you have?? i have never had any problems and mine have fallen off more than once onto the tailgate. I use the race trailer for everything now, forget loading crap in the back i hated pushing them up and riding them up. you might check out a diamond plate tailgate protector. I have seen them at the farm and ranch stores they protect the whole backside of the tailgate.

Oxlite.

I was at a race in at a gravel pit, and my six hundred spit the ramp as soon as the front wheel hit the gate..the 600 dropped, and stayed on the skid plate. Never happened before, just the combo of gravel, 600cc's, and a crappy tailgate.
