Will your lifted truck fit in your garage?

I plan to lift my truck but I want to be able to pull into the garage... Anyone have a standard garage height door and a lifted truck to answer this question... or even the measurements would work too...

I have a stock 4x4 Screw... I want to put the 6in rize lift with either 35's or 37's... whichever one will fit...

Thanks for your help

Danielle

The only problem is that there are 2 garage door heights that are basically standard, 7' (the old standard)and 8' (new standard). The 7' is more common is older homes, but there are some older houses with 8'. 98% of the new homes that we build have 8' garage doors. So your best bet would be to go you and measure yours and see what size you have.

Hopefully someone running a 6' lift with be nice enough to measure their truck for you. You will be able to clear a 8' door with out a problem. Its just a 7' that might be a tight squeeze.

It shouldn't be too hard to figure out the new height. Take current height, as an example 6' 2", add 6" for the lift, and add half the difference in diameter of the tires. If old tires were 31" and new are 37", difference is 6'/2= 3". So 6"2" + 6" + 3" = 6'11" new height.

Thats the same thing that I came up with, and the reason that i said a 7' door might be a tight squeeze. I have just found that it seems like the "real world" measurements are always different than what they should be by just adding a few numbers together.

I doubt that will fit in a standerd 7' door. I have a 2.5" leveling kit and 33s and I only have about 2" to spare when I pull in. It sucks haveing a big garage if half the things you own are to tall to clear the door.

Agree real world could be different, but if she has a 7" door, it is fairly obvious that a lift might be a problem. Just like on my stock truck and parking garages, I will not go into one without it being at least a 6'8" clearance.

yep i fit my in garage with the 6" fabtech and 35"s however i have an 8' door. I have problems fitting in parking structures though..

now if my garage door was 7' i think it might fit, however i dont like pulling into 7' parking structures because i dont trust other people measuring and things hanging and such like that.

my truck is about 6'10-6'11 at its highest point (minus the antenna). its hard to get an exact measurement. So if you have a 7' garage and 35"s it should fit, mabey only by an inch or two, but it will fit. it will be scary driving into the garage but you should be go.. if you go with 37"s im almost certain it wont fit in a 7' garage.

I think you need a bigger garage I am lucky, I can and have had a F350 crew cab long box in my garage. Its a tight fit between the work bench and garage door, but it fits.

My truck measures 6'2 or 6'3 if i want to be safe... I am at work so I don't know the height of my garage... so if its a 7 foot garage I won't fit with a lift and 35's?? but if its 8 ft I am good to go even if i go 37's right...

Thanks for the posts guys

I think I'll be safe with a 4" Fabtech & 34s or 35s...
