body lift better then suspension lift?

i would love to give my truck a bit of a lift so 35's will clear ,i like the looks of a 6 inch lift but i am kinda worried about how hard it would be on the suspension components ,i was thinking a 2 inch body lift and level kit would be alot easier on the truck ,or am i wrong?,i asked about a body lift for my truck at my local 4x4 place and they said they are such a pain in the *** to install that its not worth it( i wouldn't do it myself ),anyways let me know what u guys think ,thanks

Body lifts are supposedly a real PITA to install on the 04-07's. If you have to pay someone to install it you would be better off with a suspension lift. Neither is really "hard" on the truck. That has more to do with you and how you use your truck.

Hahah...Body lifts are harder on the truck than anything else. The spacer is really bad on your balljoints, they tend to wear out faster with the spacer. When you get the suspension lift it keeps all your balljoint angles at the stock angles.

I will not dispute this. However you can replace many ball joints at the dealer for the same price as a full suspension lift. It just depends on how big you want to go.

If you are only thinking of a 3" lift you are waisting your money if you do not just level it in my opinion. If you want 6" or more of lift and odd road heavily do a full suspension, body lifts are not the right way to fit large tires.

I had a CJ-7 running 35" tires, all suspension no body. Also keep in mind your driving habits, you can get away with less lift and bigger tires if your driving is mostly street. However if you like to pound it off-road hard you need to watch tire clearance.
