New Lift

Allright I broke down and got a procomp lift I had so many reasons not to but I hate haveing everyone here taller then me. My parking reason is taken care of, Many people have told me that a lift will hold up to the desert running I do (If I get to bending a bracket the bracket would be the least of my problems people tell me) and X mas was good to me. Also I am going to write my 35s off though the company. I am still up in the air on tires though looking at the mud grappers or the pro comp extreme AT and I cant decide between 12.5 and 13.5 I sorta like the wider tire, any pros or cons to either tire or size? This means my freshly rebuilt donahoes are in the classifieds. Also any hints or tricks to the install Ill be doing it myself (my GF agreed to help though )
Edit My reason for procomp is the price and I have plans for some SAW all the way around later.

i wouldnt go with the mud grapplers.....for your doing desert running.
i say go with a wider tire....more stabability when turning at higher speeds and all. not but much...but some.

Right now I got the stage one spacer and white body so in not to long I can go SAW's all the way around. Pat you say the 325/65R18 extreme AT then or is there some better tire to look into?

id say that, or something like what i have, cause mine are sand tires.....i only bought them cause the good deal i got on them. im going with toyo m/t's next.

mabye you can look into the nitto dune grapplers.....i dont know anything about them honestly, but hinting at the name....sounds like they are made for the sand.

you def dont want to go with the mud grapplers man. I remember Josiah saying a while back that he was sol with them at pismo with all of that sand. Those new dune grapplers look like a sweet tire, the tread pattern is really cool. I think i remember seeing sizes for them in Off Road Adventures Magazine.

The 355/65R18s is a super wide tire that isn't all that aggressive.

Get the Xtreme AT's in the widest you can get so "float" over the sand. My truck is made before 12-1-04 and I have no problems with my brake lines.

I have been told that 13.5 is just a little to wide for our weak IFS and they put too much load on our barrings anybody hear or know any truth to this?

A lot of people are running 325mm wide tires. 325/60-18 and 325/65-18 have become the most common sizes for 18 inch tires.
