Windshield Cowl coming loose....

I have an 06 F150 Supercab 4x4 and the plastic cowl is coming loose on the drivers side. I snap it back in place but it comes up again in a few days. Has anyone had this issue and do you have a good and reasonable solution for keeping it in place? I spoke to the service manager at Ford. His comment was “Yes, I have heard of it but Ford has no fix for it yet!”

Any thoughts or ideas?

How about using an epoxy or silcone adhesive?

Yes, but I was hoping that I can remove it if needed. Assuming that there is something under there that I might need access to.

there should be some screws down the center of it. make sure they are all there, or especially the one closest to the end of that peice.

They were made in two pieces and snap together in the center. Unfortunately the snap design is like Fords restructuring plan...$ucks...

The dealer can change it out under warranty. I'm on my second one and it's popping out too.

I had mine replaced under warranty, and so far no problems with the new one.

Just had a new one installed in my 2004 under warranty. We'll see if it holds. The new one looked just like the old one.

Mine did the same thing. My budies 04 did the same thing. I fixed both the exact same way and no problems. I got a stainless steel screw and installed it in the little channel right behind the hood weatherstripping. It is plastic to plastic. It hasn't moved in over 6 months. It used to move so bad that I could hear it in the truck!

mines doing the same thing, I just noticed it a couple of weeks ago, unfortunately mines already out of warranty so I guess I will just live with it. Not that big of a deal to me anyway, especially since I just noticed it and its probably been that way for months

My cowl cover has been coming loose in the center for some time now, under warranty and heading to the dealer tomorrow.

If you read my above post you will see that you do not have to live with it. It is an easy fix and will only cost you a couple of cents at Lowes to get a screw. It will take all of 2 min to fix. The repair is invisible.

Mine did it when it was almost new and my brother put 1 drop of black silicone adhesive on it and stuck it to the windshield (down low). You can't see it and it hasn't moved since. If you needed to remove it, it would do no harm and would be easy.

I saw this and checked my truck out. I heard a rattle in my headliner, or so I thought. Found my cowl seperated in the middle, driver side piece was real loose. Snapped it back together and will see tomorrow if the noise still persists.
