The big project

Alright guys, big plans for the F150 over the holidays! The first project will be the new system. Two 12 Boston G5's with a custom box of course. Amps, two power acoustik lt1440-2(1400 watts bridged at 2ohms). Rainbow Germ's or slc kick 265's powered by an alpine mrf series amp. Edead the WHOLE truck, and maybe a w200. Also going to put in a yellow top and possibly a bat cap, or i might just end up doing the big 3, havent decided yet. Also on the interior, im taking out all of the dash panels that are silver and the lariat wood package and getting them painted in marbalized black and also the over head compartment. After that comes the suede headliner! As soon as i get all of that finished the next project will be the outside. Getting all of the handles and mirrors painted. Also painting the tan two tone to black so the whole truck is solid. Then i will be getting some 24's a 2,4 drop and possibly a djm rollpan like styx's. The box will be done on tuesday and i should have the subs and amps by the end of the week. Im HOPING that i can get all of this accomplished by march at the very latest. I'll keep yall posted if plans change and take tons of pics throughout the process.

Hell yea sounds like fun! Ive also got my work cut out for me. I just got finished riping my rear seats and stripping the back wall. Im going to install my LMI seat lift and deaden the back wall and part of the floor and all of the door panels. Then I'm going to build a custom box to house my 2 infinity kappa perfect 12" 12.1's. Im also going to mount the amps to the rear wall. What kind of deadner are you going to use. I dont know much about that part. Also, how much are you going to use? I'm thinking about buying 100 Sq Ft but not sure what kind. I was thinking elemental designs.

i think im going to buy around 200 just to be sure. Styx said he used 200 in his scab, but he like tripple layered everything. I figure with my screw i will just double layer everything and i should be good. I love how you can just order the edead by the foot, makes it so much easier!

Please don't take this the wrong way...I have a serious question...When did Power Acoustik become on par with the other products/brands you are installing? The last I knew they were a flea market brand/quality. Or maybe it was a similiar name, and I'm mistaken. I don't keep up with car audio much anymore.

Yea thats kind of what i heard about the power acoustic amps... I dont have any personal experience with them but from what i hear, their 1000W amp is only about 80%-85% efficient. Also they run at i believe a 14.5V load with will put a huge strain on your electrical system when your maxing the output. Like I say, I have only read this, I've never had any personal experience with that brand.

I would agree with you, but i am getting both of the amps for FREE! They'll do for now. I'm more worried about getting everything done first, then i will go back and replace the amps.
Procomp- i didn't hit the lottery but i wish i would have. I'm about to get my christmas bonus for work and plus christmas money. And my parents bought the subs and deadener for me

I would do this:
1. Big 3 (always no matter what...and always first)
2. Yellow Top (always...no matter what)
3. BatCap I'm still not sure about these. I don't believe in using a cap...just senseless to me. The BatCap on the other hand...been meaning to try one, only because it's more a battery than a cap. Plus, hella cheaper than a HO alt.
4. HO alt (if still needed)

As mentioned before...and also no offense...the Power Acoustik amp, they are just cheaply built with cheap *** parts. I wouldn't trust it with the other equipment your running. I would buy a quality used amp before I use a PA. Just my .02 cents.

I still wouldn't use them. Sell them on Ebay...let someone else use them. Did you wonder why you're getting them for free?

All I hear about them is how they burn up. I would hate to see that happen to you and mess something up. If you do decide to use them....Good Luck.

Hopefully my bonus is more than expected. I'll be running the g5's at 2ohms so eventually ill end up getting a 1500 watt amp or so. I was looking at the JBL GTO 1201.1. Its relatively cheap and ive heard good things about it. Or maybe i can just ask the parents and see if they can hook me up

Good choice on the G5's. My new favorite sub since they came out.
