I have a similar noise coming from the right front intermittently. It happens when I brake and turn like pulling into a driveway. Its a clunk or pop that sounds like something is loose or maybe binding and suddenly releasing. I've had it checked by the dealership and they said they couldn't duplicate it but checked the front end and everything looks fine. During the warm weather this summer it hardly ever did it, but now that its colder I'm hearing it more.

I have had this problem ever since i lifted my truck. I looked underneath the front for any odd wear or marks and cannot find anything out of the ordinary. I have come to the conclusion that it is the CV Joints in the steering knuckle. I dont know what else it can be. But either way i have written it off as well.

My 2006 Screw will exhibit a knocking sensation through the wheel when I drive at slow speeds on a rough unpaved surface. Also when I turn into my driveway which has a little hump at the beginning I get the clunk/knock. I found a TSB that pertains to 2005MY trucks so this may help you. the TSB# is 05-9-23. I am going to see if my truck is also affected since it's an early build '06.

i had a problem with a sort of a thunk while turning hard. also, from time to time it would make a squeek for every revolution of the wheels. it ended up being the wheel bearings inside the passenger hub assembly. had to shell out like $280 for that part i believe the dealer screwed it up when they turned my rotors....
probably not the same problem, but its something to keep in mind...

i was told that if your bearings are bad, you may have some play in the wheel. like if you jack the truck up and push in or out on the top or bottom of the wheel. however, mine didnt seam to have any play... i didnt realize untill after i got the hub assembly off that the bearings inside had a little play when compared to the new assembly i bought.
unfortunately, you cant just replace the wheel bearings on these trucks, you have to replace the whole assembly( hub, rotor and bearings) as well as a new spindle nut...
i was able to narrow down my problem to either a hub or brake/caliper issue beacuse it was making noises with every roration of the wheel. if its not consistant like this then it may be something else. i would also check the bolts on the controls arms and other front end components to make sure they are torqued down.
good luck finding the problem :santa:
