Exclamation Edge Trouble with 4WD

I know I said I wasn't going to be mudding with my new truck, but I couldn't resist. Overall, I thought it handled pretty well offroad, but i felt like my old 2500 was more solid (which I would expect from a HD).

Anyways, I went into 4 low to get up a steep and slippery hill. When I first took off the truck kind of surged a little bit and then worked fine the rest of the way. After getting to the top I went into 4 high and fooled around in some mud. Went back into 2 high and hit the pavement. I didn't notice it at first because I was going slow and letting my lugs clear, but when I accelerated, the truck began shuddering real bad and the wrench light was on.

This happened befor when I first went to level 3 with the Edge. Just like I did then, I went back to stock and then reloaded level 3. Now the truck takes off fine. Maybe I need to check for an updated version. It just seems like it was caused from using 4WD. Anyone else have this happen?

I haven't, but I haven't done serious offroading, just enough to stay unstuck around the deer ranch...

Did you shift in and out of 4low correctly?

Next time, if there is one, pull the codes. If the wrench was on there should have been a DTC. Mine, occasionally, does the same thing when I REALLY get on it while pulling someone out at the beach. I don't think it's 4WD related, because I use mine on a regular basis -- no less than once weekly.

I don't remember what DTC's it was throwing tho...

Yep, I went to neutral then hit the switch and waited.

I tried to read the code but it said it was unknown. It wasn't just when I really pushed down, it just seemed like it didn't want to get up and go. When I pulled over and reved the engine it did the same shuddering feeling, so I guess it is something wrong with the info the computer is sending the engine.

That almost sounds like the truck went into limp mode. When mine does it on the beach there is no difference in drivability. I just cannot get rid of the code without reloading stock...

My truck felt exactly like you're describing when I was messing around with my speedo. The truck sensed it was going way to slow -vs- RPM and went into limp.?

That sounds like a good explanation to me. I am going to update my software and give it another try. Thanks.
