Tailgate fell off!

So I was out cruising today looking for some yotes and I have my tailgate down because my quad doesn't fit in back with it up. The tailgate is banging away on the bumps due to the spring in it and then it sounds different. I look back and it's plowing snow!

Its very much a pain in the butt to get your tailgate back on when you cant get in in the right position due to your quad being in the way. I fussed with it for over half an hour in -30 degree weather before I got it back on. From now on I won't let it bounce around back there, I'll strap it down.

hahaha kinda funny, looks kinda aftermarket, like you pushed a button and it swung down that way, make some ramps come out and you can back the quad out.

if that made any sense...

If it is a dog, all I have to say is put the poor thing inside the cab where it is warm. How could you leave it out in the cold while your A$$ is all warm and toasty. That is so cruel. (ifs its a dog)

Do you really think I would stick my dog in the back of the truck under my quad? My dog stayed at home IN THE HOUSE today. There are 2 coyotes in under the quad. They are dead. They aren't that big at all for coyotes.

It just bounced up out of the hinge and was dragging by the cables as seen in the pics. A simple hose clamp around the RH hinge would have prevented it. Usually I have wooden ramps in under the quad that keep weight on the tailgate to prevent it from bouncing, but I left them home as I had no plans to take the quad out of the truck due to the temperature, -30C.

I also detest animal cruelty. I cannot even describe the rage I feel when I see it. No offense taken.
