As anyone flipped their tie-rods to the top of the steering knuckle ?

(I think my outer passenger side CV boot is ripped)

I though about it but was too scared being it is my steering. It looks like it would fix the problem but i am scared. I dont know about front end geomerty and crap like that and figured ford put it under for a reason like steering force or somthing elses I know nothing about and dont want to mess with, but give it a try and tell me how it works

You need to keep the steering rods parallel to the a-arms or you'll get a lot of change in toe in/out and bump steer as the susspension moves. The only way to fix all of the angles is to go with a 4+ inch suspension system.

Yep, i tore the boot on my last '05 F150.. Mine flung grease all over the place and all over my tire... Took it to the dealer and they replaced the whole halfshaft for free under warrenty.. Took them an afternoon..

Yea its usually easiler and about the same price(they give you some $$ for your old axle) to just swap the whole cv axle than to try and replace the boot.
