Shift to OD delayed: Should I be concerned?

I have a 2006 F150 Scab 5.4 with an Edge Evolution, Volant, and SISO Magnaflow. I've noticed over the past couple weeks that the transmission doesn't shift into OD when it should when "cold" (this is south Florida, so it don't get very cold at night). It seems to hold 3rd for an extra 1/4 to half mile than it should under light to moderate throttle (I don't give it full throttle cold). I've noticed through the Edge that the tranny fluid temp are about 98 degrees when it finally shifts. I haven't messed with the Edge's settings in months, and all forementioned mods have been in place since July or so. It just seems odd to me since it is a new development. Should I be concerned? Any thoughts welcome.

the edge setting may delay the shifting to make more power by pushing the rpms to go up more in regular driving. for instants it may hold 3rd gear longer to make more power then shift into overdrive.

Also, are you sure it is the shift to 4th or the TC lockup that is delayed. In colder weather, the TC will not lock up until the fluid reaches a certain temp. Not sure what that is, but definitely notice it. Realize it is not that cold in Fla, but even temps in the 50s will give you some delay.

I don't know but I just bought my 2006 F150 (Supercab, 4x4, 5.4L) a month ago and it only had 22 miles on it and I don't have any mods for it yet but I noticed that there is a delay when I give it full throttle to shift into OD. Nothing like a 1/4 mi. to 1/2 mi. delay but there is a noticeable delay... maybe its just that way from factory? Course then again... it is november and its missouri and it gets down to 25-30 degrees at night BUT the delay occurs at operating temperature too. Now I realize that there will be a delay in shifting to OD but this just seems like it takes longer than it should.

If your giving it full throttle, Its not going to shift into over drive???

Nates06SCab Your truck wont shift into over drive while the transmission is cold, But It has to be really cold. I only notice this delay in the dead of winter

If your having this problem in south Florida, Im inclined to think that you might have a problem.

Mine is doing the same thing. It shifts around 98 to 100 degrees.

No, I was trying to say that my transmission doesn't shift into OD until it heats up to 98 to 100 deg.

Maybe disconnect the battery for a while and then drive it hard to 'reset' the comp.

I have noticed the samething. However I pretty sure it is the TC that has not locked up yet. As I watch my trans temp it will lockup around 105 deg + or - some. After it has reached that temp or higher there is no issue. So its just getting warmed up.

Yep, mine does the same thing, but I think it is the TC lockup delay that you are noticing.
