04 Power Window Problem!!!

This morning I rolled my driver side front power window down, and it will not roll back up. I dont know if it is off track or what, so I took off my door panel to try to wee if I could fix the problem but I couldn't. I did manage to push the window up while the panel was off. It will roll down but when I try to roll it up it won't budge...Anybody else had this problem or have any advise on what to do. I don't have any warrenty left (Figures).....It is a 2004 FX4 supercab.....any help would be great.....Thanks

DRS

The same thing happened to me both front windows. I checked and it was a broken cable. I also have a 04 and the dealer fixed them no questions. If you dont have any warranty left and there isn't a factor recall you cantry and do it yourself but it was a pain in the butt just to get a look inside.
Sorry I know this doens't help but it could be a problem with the 04 fx4.

I have a thread somewhere when mine did the same thing back in the spring. My warranty covered the problem though.

yep, regulator

I just had the same problem 2 weeks ago. The regulator/motor assembly comes as one piece and it fairly simple to install if you have any mechanical skills. Once the door panel is off and the plastic back sheet it's only 4 bolts and a little careful manuevering to remove it and reinstall it. I started to take pictures but ran out of daylight. It's easy though and the assembly is about $150 from the dealer. i got it at employee price which came out to $95. Good luck with it. Email me if you have any questions since it's all still fresh in my head.

My passenger side broke a couple months ago and the driver's side went today. Do you know if the replacement parts are any higher quality or is this something I can look forward to replacing myself again in another few years?

My 04 2WD XLT has a real slow passanger front window. I don't dare roll it down in the winter, because it won't roll back up. In the summer it's OK to do. VERY weak motor.

Took me about 2 hours to do it. Shop rate ~$85/hour last time I checked. Regulator at dealer cost + 10% and taxes was $95.

So, $170 labor and $95 parts plus markup. $305 sounds about right to me.

They're probably faster than me but it's the dealer. You have to expect to pay a little more.

I had this problem before, turns out i was at the beach the week before and had gotten some sand blown in my truck... Took the compressor hose and blow the panel out. There must have been some sand in the contact for the switch.

can this regulator be bought at a local store?
How do I get to the screw behind the door handle (on the arm rest)?
