Which Magnaflow catback do you have that exits on both sides? If it is not a catback, which muffler did you use to creat the system you have?

Thanks
CJ

could some one tell me in technial terms, why a flowmaster would reduce low end torque as compared to stock and/or a magnaflow.

a real reason based off of facts...
no BS....
facts...

by the way, i'm not in either camp..... just want to know the real answer.

Hi.

It's time once again to dust off one of my fave posts....

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...little+baffles

If this doesn't explain it, nothing will. .

It ain't about the backpressure, which is probably the single most misunderstood & misused terms in all exhaust-dom.

Oh, almost forgot - try and strap on a little self-education - use Search - there's LOTS more on here (oddly enough, in the 'Chips' forum like the example above). There... that sounds more like the 'ole Bubba!

What? Still not convinced??? Then you need to call (540)965-7123 & ask to speak to Mike. If that don't work, well then, there's just no hope for ya !

Cheers
Bubba

I got the 5x18" muffler with 3" SI, 2.25" DO into 3" or 3.5" stainless tips. I am very satisfied. If you want it a little louder but with the same performance, go with the 14" muffler. Hope that helps.

My Flowmaster droned so badly that it gave me headaches and it was not made of stainless steel. My current Magnaflow is mellower with no drone and is made of 304 stainless. Works for me!

by reading the above article/post, can i assume that a flow master slows the exhaust gasses more than a stock muffler? thats what it sounds like.

i'm not saying this is not true but i thought a performance muff would flow better than stock.....

so from what the article says is a flow master makes a nice sound but no added perfromance.

correct?

I got the 18" X 5" oval with 2.5 in 2.5 out and kept my factory exchaust. It made the truck sound better and I didn't want to replace it in a couple of years. My old truck 99 F150 4X4 had duals with flows and it was rusted in about a year. My magnaflows been on 2 years and they are still pretty!

18" X 5" Magnaflow was 106.95 with free shipping
Tip - SS double walled - 25.00
Welded in - 25.00 (local shop)

156.95 and all done!

I didn't want the drone I had in the 99 either. Power seems a bit better but I have the AirAid, Edge, and Magnaflow!
