MAGNAFLOW or FLOWMASTER

Flowmaster, all round, by a country mile!

If you're going to spout it off, back it up. Show us / tell us why.
It's really weak to walk in, rattle a line, and bump out.

I installed my Maggie prior to ANY other performance mod on my truck. After installing, I could honestly feel a difference. Some may bawk at that statement but, it is the truth and I don't typically rattle off stuff like that. I could actually feel a difference in the pedal as the truck seemed more responsive.
Now, I'm not saying that I shaved 4 seconds of my quarter or anything stupid like that... I'm just saying that the pedal was perkier after ONLY the SISO Maggie install. Not huge, but noticable.

Maybe you missed it, but I've talked about my experiences with both systems on two previous vehicles I owned, in more than one thread in the past.

I can't say whether the exhaust change had much of an effect on the high end HP. Not enough for me to feel anyway. The most impressive part IMO is what I didn't feel - A decimation of the low end torque that the Flowmaster 40s did to both of my previous F-150s.
Just my $0.02.

I will say this though: Despite my theatrics on this board, Magnaflow IS a well constructed exhaust system with a nice tone to it. It's just that my two previous experiences with Magnaflow on two previous cars [(2004 GTO & 2000 Lariat Scab] were not as pleasant as with Flowmaster.
However, I have heard several Magnaflow catback systems on several cars/trucks that make the hair on my arms stand up; and owners who swear that their Magnaflow catback ONLY has done a world of good to their HP gains.
I've said it B4 and I'll holler it out again: When trying to select an aftermarket exhaust system for your ride, sound clips and reader's feedbacks on foums like this are a very good way to start, BUT, if you get the chance, try and hear one in person and yet, better still, take one for a ride.
Safe driving.
I based my decision off of 2 things. The first being that I had a Flowmaster 40 on my old truck. I lost a ton of low end and it gave you a headache because of the amount of drone it created! Therefore, I wanted to try something new with the Magnaflow. The second reason was that when I bought the truck and was looking for an exhaust I read a magazine article (probably couldn't be found now b/c that was 2 years ago but I wish I could to show folks) that tested several catback exhausts on the then new 3V 5.4. According to all their tests which, if I remember correctly, included the Magnaflow, Flowmaster, Gibson, Borla, and maybe one or two more, the Magnaflow was the only system to not only show no loss in low end hp and tq but it was the only system to show a gain in hp and tq. Therefore, I picked the Magnaflow. Since that decision, I've had no regrets, no loss in power or torque, and no headaches from drone but I still can turn heads if I lay on the throttle and let it roar!
You know, many talk about Flowmaster's "drone" but one man's drone is another man's music to his ears.
As for the popular " low-end torque loss" many mention when talking of Flowmaster, it's true as I've experienced it too. But like I said on another recent thread, it really isn't an issue as time rolls by.
