Factory rims paint? Anyone done this?
Factory rims paint? Anyone done this?
Anybody ever considered painting their factory rims in a certain way or design? I own two sets of wheels and their rims accordingly.. I have 22" and i have the facotry 17" and was wondering what they would look like painted in anyway... My truck is black but any pics would help...
Thanks
Thanks
I've been toying with the idea of blacking out the stock FX4 rims. Powdercoating seems to be the way to go, but I can't figure out how I am going to get the center cap to match. Ideas anyone?
Do a search and there is a sick looking black FX4 Crew on here that had the factory 20's powdercoated.

If you paint them clear them with POR-15 Glisten paint...its designed for clearing rims and is rock hard like the factory clear coat. I have used it on some Formula rims I restored and its an awsome product!

F150DEER I can't find your gallery. I have aspen green also and would like to see yours.
I painted my ranger wheels a few years ago (factory 5 spoke), I just roughed up the grey/silver on the spokes with 300 grit wet paper, spayed them black, let them sit in the sun a few hrs then put a cpl coats of clear. It never chipped or peeled and looked way better than factory.

Was this a DYI job? If so, what kind of paint did you use? Looks really sharp
. I would like to do this to mine as well.
