Got some bad news guys,

Doing my research about the Ford V-10 6.8L i recently found out that the V-10 cranks are not strond enough to support a turbo and very high HP.
That was posted by Neal "The hp freak" on the lightning forum:

"HI!... The crank is very weak in the v-10 and is known for breaking at higher HP #'s. I was going to build up a v-10 a few years ago to put in mu F-150 but after seeing the crank and talking to a few buddies that work at FORD's here in WINDSOR that are in the foundry and the assembly line I scrapped the idea."

"HI!... The V-10 crank is forged. It's off-set cut due to the firing order. If you ever saw one you would wonder why it does break at idle let alone 6000RPM on a 500RWH.P application."

"HI!... No, actually it's the way the crank is built. The 4.6/5.4 cranks use 100% of the cranks center core. The v-10 only uses 50% of the cranks center core in some spots, due to allowance for the odd firing order."

Will have to try to find a another bigger engine because the V-10 is out of the game now.

Below is a video where a 5.4 L (Ford GT) was twin turbo'ed to 1,000 hp...don't know if you can make it with a truck with the drive train losses...probably can run the same times with 900 hp...after about 800 hp, chassic setup will become your biggest obstacle...

Rafa,

There's a local guy here where I live pushing over 900 rwhp in a 4.6L Mustang twin turbo. It's easily a 9 sec. car. My question is why not build a more common smaller displacement motor and reap the cost/weight advantage?

Yeah, I mean it's still a V-10.

Just beef it up. I assume you would have to do this with any motor, if you're wanting it to support higher hp. Projects like this, are the reason companies such as Edlebrock are able to stay in business. Don't give up on the V-10!

On the link above they say the truck has 1000 streetable HP, don't know if it's on the tires or flywheel.
