Will 17s fit?

My F150 has the stock FX4 18s & I wanna go with Procomp 17x9 1079 wheels and the **** Cepek Radial Fun Country 33/12.5 17s. But I'm hearing that I can't down size the wheel on a '06 F150 is this true? anyone else wearing 17s?

Why would wheel size matter when it's the tire that contacts the road? I vote not true.

it may have to deal with the size of the brakes. i know in my 05 i couldn't go with smaller then a 17" i vote plausible

yeah only some 17's will fit out trucks with the brakes clearing. i know they will fit
im 99% sure they will cause at my dealer where i bought my truck they had a F-150 on a 6 inch fabtech and those wheels.

but they could of been slightly different but i highly doubt it.

yeah, but backspacing and all alwasy makes a difference and some other factors.

theres only a handfull of 17's that will fit.
and only a handfull of wheels have our bolt pattern so thats not very many wheels haha

but yeah im 99% sure the 1079's fit

Ford changed brake calipers sometime during the 2005 model year. THis is causing fitment problems with SOME, but not ALL aftermarket 17 inch wheels.
