Console Organizer for 2004 FX Supercab

Hello everyone.

Need some help with a storage issue. My "new to me" 2004 FX supercab has a nice big storage area in the center console. The problem is that the storge area is so big that when I put stuff in there, it is like throwing it in a black hole. I have had the truck a week, and already, I don't know what is in there, etc.

Went to some local parts stores and they didn't have anything and the guys working on Sunday afternoon didn't know very much. I need something to hold mail, store some keys that I seldom use, cell phone charger, tire pressure gauge, and the usual junk that we all throw into the console storage area.

Went on the internet and I didn't have any luck. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

Barry Wesley

This CENTER CONSOLE STORAGE topic has been around a few times. You might try using the Advanced Search (in this specific) forum for console AND storage.

Go to Wal-Mart and look around the school/office supplies area. I bought these rubbermaid desk drawer organizers and they work like a charm. Office max had black ones but they were double the price.

I put one of these things in my center console. It was like 97 cents at Wal-Mart. Works great.

organizer

I made a console organizer out of aluminum (it's good to have a metal shop at work). I'll post some pics tonight.

I liked GordoPanocho's idea of using some small parts bins from the hardware store.

Pics of my console

As promised, here are some pictures of my custom console organizer. I'm pretty happy with it.

With shelf

Front shelf removed

Both removed

And it gives me a nice place to hide the bypass switch for my Z1
