Tow package question

I got the tow package on my 05, I see there is a big plug on the back, I haven't looked to see how many pins are in it, as I never had a need to find out. But a guy just emailed me and asked if I could drag a trailer for him. It has brakes and a 7 pin connector.

So how many pins are in there, if any, and is there a brake controler somewhere in the truck, or do I need to add that myself?

thanks

dave

I am 90% sure it is a 7 pin connector

You need to add your own brake controler. There is a wire harness that should be in your glovebox that will allow for easier installation of the brake controller.

tow

you have a 7 wire setup like was said you need to have an electric brake controller added you need to check also the fuse box you may need to install a fuse for the electric brakes ussually a 30 amp maxi fuse . ford leaves them out to save money

Thanks, I'll pick pne up at work Monday. The harness is in the drivers door panel, I remember seeing it.
