The H13STTWIN parts arrive at Advance stores this week. My local store got them yesterday. A whole two sets, but nonetheless...

 

I've had the 9005ST and H13 combo for a few day now with quite a bit of night driving and no lense heating problems at all.

I know it's still new, but just passing on my experience.

 

i switched out the 9145 in the fogs and replaced them with the 9005 silverstar ultras. used the 9145's in the mustang fogs. the ultras are not coated on the tip. seem a whole lot brighter. the autozone i go these at says they cant keep them in stock. they have sold more silverstars in the past two weeks than they have all year.

 

I installed the XtraVisions awhile ago. Does anyone think it would be worth it to upgrade to the SilverStars, or should I just stick with what I've got?

 

Anyone have a H13ST explode on them a few days after installing? I just took a photo of my truck and noticed the damn bulb was popped glass all inside the assembly. I bought them at the local autozone and I am hoping they let me get a new bulb.

What a royal pain for some good lights.

 

Nope mine are still good and they have been for about 2 weeks or more, and been used alot! Maybe you touched the bulb by mistake, it can happen very easily.

Nah I was carefull installing them making sure I didn't touch the bulbs. They did fit real tight going in though. I thought maybe them being tight might cause that problem.

 

If there is any iota of water leakage around the bulb into the housing what you've had happen will happen. Hot bulb + water drop = $20 bang/pop/flash.

Just a thought... maybe you just had a dud.

I've been running 9005's in my fogs for nearly 2 years -- I think it was my first mod. I'm on pair #2 (first ones burned out -- one was thrashed by a rock going through a fog assembly too). So far, so good.

Of course, though... my HIDs should be here tomorrow.

This question might have been answered already but that for all frontlight:headlights, Fog lights etc

 

H13ST is the headlight (hi & low beam) 9145ST is the Foglight bulb 9005ST is a headlight bulb that will fit in the fog socket (if you want even more light)
each bulb costs ~$20

 

My new 2007 FX2 has 9140 bulbs in the driving lights..yet everybody keeps talking about 9145 bulbs. Can I use a 9145 in place of the 9140? Is it just higher wattage? Also..If I don't want the higher wattage of a 9005, will a 9006 also fit in the driving lamps?? I DEFINITELY need better lights on this truck!

Might head to the autozone and take a look at the physical differences between the bulbs. From a quick look on google they look practically identical.

 

Are you talking about foglights?

Driving (head) lights are H13...
