how do you remove coat hook?
Take a small flat screwdriver and pry up the trim piece in the center of the coat hook.
Take a phillips scredriver and, turning to the left, remove the screw that holds the coat hook in place.
Always remember-lefty loosey, righty tighty.
If you need instructions on which end of the screwdriver to hold on to, please pm Mattineer. He should still have the binstruction manual, but probably hasn't read it yet.

First, make sure that any bystanders are out of the way of the fishhook’s path. Next, loop a piece of fishing line several times around the belly of the hook near the skin surface. Press the shank of the hook against the skin with your index finger (1).
Wrap the other end of the string several times around the index finger of your other hand (use your thumb to hold the loose end of the string tightly) (2).
Move your index finger close to the hook to generate slack in the line. Pull on the string suddenly, with a jerk, in line with the hook. Flush the area with water, clean it with soap and water, and bandage it.
Wait, that's "How to Remove a Fishhook"

adaniels:
I may not know much, but I know that I read a post that said, and I quote:
Since I have pulled the coat hooks out of my 2005 F-150, and they have a screw, and this is a forum for 2004-up F-150 pickups, I answered in a quite logical manner; explaining that if you remove a trim piece, you can then remove the screw that holds the hook in place.
Additionally, the Ford manual for the 2004, 2005, and 2006 models (seperate editions) all show a screw in that hook. I know this, because I checked before answering since you didn't specify what year you were looking for. I didn't want to be accused of giving a stupid answer by relying only on personal experience and a single year's information. (I apologize that I do not have all 2007 information available yet).
So it looks like it is possible there is more than one answer; some trucks have a screw and some don't, similar to the wiring harness going from a bulkead to the door-some have a wiring block and some have the wires encased in a sheath.
Now, as to whether someone asked a "stupid question" (your words again), well, I guess that is evident.
It is now apparent that the answer here really boils down to two possibilities:
1. The "a" in "adaniels" stands for "a s s", or
2. You asked an unneccessary question, because you went and bought the part without bothering to look for an answer.
By the way, "all of the above" is also a possibility. Thanks for playing along, but next time be ready to be flamed again since you seem to be overly sensitive about your own stupidity. If you don't want an answer, don't ask a question.
I guess Grandpa was right when he said "There are no stupid questions, just stupid people"

well onbelay for clarification I checked and none of the 2004-2007 Ford F-150 any style have screws holding the coat hook, so you either have a "special edition" manual or you dont know how to read. And as to F150Truckin thank you for helping me it is people like you and f150duke, thumper, and josiah that make this forum as awesome as it is. We are all here to share ideas on mods, helpful tips and sometime just there if we have a so called stupid person as onbelay thinks of us as.
