Project Rebuild 2004 F-150 XLT Salvage Truck

I recently bought a 2004 F-150 XLT that was a salvage truck. The truck was a police truck for the WV State Police. It took a hard front end hit. I bought it through a Auto Dealer that specializes in selling salvage trucks, and am currently in the process of rebuilding it. I thought it would be cool to throw the pictures up on this forum. There was extensive damage to the front frame, so I bought it planning to swap out the frame.

You can check out the pictures here. The first album shows the truck when we bought it. The second one is with the cab and bed off. I'll take more pics tonight and post as the project completes.

Great Truck if you can pull it off and still save some money. Good luck.

How do you know the truck was a WV State police truck? Is it because of the "Police Interceptor" badge on it? You can get those for less than $10 off ebay. Besides not having any police markings on it it also has a bug shield and vent visors on it, most police dept dont add aftermarket accesories like those. not that its a big deal...I just didnt want you to put to much stock into the stick on Police Interceptor badge.

Im pretty sure its a FX4 unless they swapped the stock wheels with the 18" FX4 wheels.

Well it has chrome bumpers and the "4X4" stickers on the bed (not FX4 stickers)....not to mention an XLT interior.

Ah, I accidently started this thread with the wrong username, but since it's the one taking off, I go with it.

Bought the truck for 11k. I'll probably put about 4k into it. I was thinking its the FX4 because of the wheels. What is the difference between an XLT and a FX4?

It has a WV State Police Registration sticker on it. We also found a wire run to the back bed for a CB radio. I'll probably see it on "Cops" one day. ha ha.

The interior, it has power front windows & rear. Plus power locks. Push button 4x4, & CD.
