As soon as we have E-85 compatable F-15's and M1 Abrams tanks, then maybe we'll change our national policy of sucking the rest of the world's oil dry.

There's more oil in the Rocky Mountain states than anywhere else. It's just a little expensive to get out of the shale. In the mean time, we'll suck the foreign oil producers dry. There will be ups and downs on the market until the Middle East runs dry in 50 years, but in the end, we will still have oil to feed our military and they'll go back to hearding camels.

I agree when I bought my truck it was to have the option to use what ever fuel I want and to have the flexibility for the future. Until the government gets on board and removes big oils hand from their pockets we won't get anywhere.

wouldn't it be cool if we could freeze this thread for 5 years, and then come back to it and compare the ideas here to what really played out......

also,

i would love to run my house on nuclear fuel. i see there is a small module that you can purchase (about the size of a central AC unit) that can generate electricity from nuclear fuel. i guess the idea is you bury this thing in your back yard and it runs your house for 50 years. then you dig it up and replace the fuel for another 50 years. i heard some remote (rural) mansions are already using them. pretty cool huh.......

The US has the lowest price on food in the world. Instead of worrying where the oil for those lifted 4X4's that never leave the highway comes from, stop and think what it would be like if all of your food was imported from overseas. The average american farmer does not receive the bulk of the subsidys it goes to the "Corporate Farm". To end this the people in the inner cities due receive a government subsidy it called Welfare.
Utter rubbish!!! USDA policies strive to keep the price of food UP, at least to famers. We have too many farmers producing too much food. We subsidize their crops prices, their water costs and even their energy costs. We subsidize ag exports directly and indirectly through special financing.

And let's not forget IMPORT protection, e.g., the horrendous tarriffs on ethanol imports -- and sugar, and.........

All USA/USDA/Americans achieve here is a transfer -- lower food bills for higher tax bills.

You Sir, are so full of crap your eyes are brown.

I'll see your USDA and raise you my PhD in Agricultural Economics.

Cheers,

Phil

Aquanomics, it's obvious to me that your smug keymanship is aiding this thread towards it getting locked. Have a nice day.

Hey, thanks vader. A choice of sigs would be appreciated. I always liked your sigs. Of course I'm biased as I grew up watching all the SW movies over and over and so on. Now my 9 year old son is a SW junkie too.

Hijack time.
