And yes, you have Ford to thank for this because they are dumping F-150's so cheaply it isn't even funny. (It's hard to blame them though because sales are dropping badly for our trucks. Probably due to fuel prices)
Whoa. I didn't believe it until I compared to one I printed out on the 21st. Just trade in, but wow!
SCAB FX4
Then: $17,150
Now: $13,450
Maybe that means I can pick up a nice used 2005 or 2006 in a year.

Are you guys doing trade in, private party, or suggested retail?
My suggested retail on the used side is $34,440
Private Party Value is $29,205 (this is definitely down from the last time I did this -- about a month ago)
Also, I've edited the thread title... WTH is permitted... WTF isn't - not in 04+ at least.

So in other words, the only way to get from one of these is to take a serious hit. Id much rather pay more initially that way the truck is worth more in a couple years so when you decide to sell it you wont lose near as much. Im finding out that the F150(or Fords period) are the not type of vehicles to buy new and sell(or trade) a few years later and expect not to take a raping. The problem is, I dont see this truck lasting if I keep it. Guess I will get screwed either way. I want my 93 F150 back lol.

Why do all you guys want to get rid of your trucks? It seems that most are pretty new. I love mine and don't really care what it's worth as I plan on keeping it at least 5 years. By that time things will even out. I think we all got really great deals when we bought them and don't recall many complaining about how a sticker of 35+ can be had for around 25 or 26 grand.
Wow, what a difference 5 days make. 2006 F150 Regular Cab STX/Auto with 1500 miles

Just re-ran the figures, in comparison to value when I traded my 04 SCREW in on an 06 F250 3 months ago, the trade value on the F150 has dropped about $4500...amazing low values IMO for the new F150's, they are great trucks!

With Ford offering all these incentives it is indeed hurting the resale market of these trucks. If you start selling all your trucks that were 35k for 26k what you have now is a 26k truck. It just sucks for the people that bought their trucks for MSRP or slightly lower. Also gas prices are hurting the resale value of these vehicles as well, and the higher the gas goes the lower the resale on non fuel efficient vehicles will go.
Just be thankful your not driving a Dodge, those vehicles are depreciating at a much faster rate than any other vehicle on the market, followed closely by GM and Ford not too far behind. Employee pricing is really hurting those companies. But nobody buys these vehicles as a money making investment anyways. Have fun with what you have and buy an economy car if you need to save money on fuel.
