I hung with my friends SS camaro out of a light, he dynoed at 370 before he did his big cam, and put down 405. We raced out of a light, i actually pulled slightly ahead of him, b.c his car was just spinning the whole time. It was an A4 car at the time, it shifted to second, stopped spinning, shifted back to first and was gone!
I really do believe this guys story, its completely possible, especially if the GT was an Auto. I used to race my friends 02? GT stang and i could hang until about 80- and he was an automatic also....

The V6 is 200 lbs. lighter at 3300 lbs.

11.6 lbs. per horsepower for the mustang versus 18.3 lbs. per horsepower for the F150.
This isn't brain surgery, just physics.
A Mustang Gt can run mid 13 second 1/4 miles. Your truck is nowhere near that.

Exactly, I've seen a lot more lose to a lot less because the driver didn't know what he was doing...

I looked at RoadandTrack.com

R&T suggests 3500lbs+
And CarandDriver.com
http://www.caranddriver.com/roadtest...-gt-page4.html
C&D says Curb weight: 3523 lb
I was thinkin of the new GT500 which has a curb weight of 4100lbs....
And as for our trucks not being able to run a mid 13 or w.e thats not the debat here, it is IF (and i do think so) he can hang with the Mustang GT up to around 50.
It would be more acurate to compare the 0-60 times of both vehicles.

My retuned 5.4L 2wd Scab is ~6.8
The guy in the Mustang either wasn't racing or he really screwed up. The F150 can not hang with a Mustang without a supercharger or nitrous. I don't give a damn what gears you stick in it. Period. End of subject.
Dang guys...I am not saying I beat him! This kid was like 20 years old and obviousely doesnt know how to drive a fast car. My ex girlfriend had an 05 GT stick and holy hell a@@ its a fast car if you can drive it right. My truck is pretty fast but no where near as fast as a stock GT.
well a 5.2 time is done with near perfect conditions/ driver.
especially with a passenger in the mustang he was atleast 3650lbs. And as others suggested he may not have been that good of a driver, and with a regeared truck, automatic, that shifts perfectly at power band, it is still possible to hang with the stang up to 50. Now im not suggesting that he beat him as you said it is impossible to beat the stang.
I am suggesting tho that it is completely possible for him to hang up to 50.
Just admit that its possible, now im not saying on paper, with both drivers being the best. Just saying on the street with a young kid not knowning everything about how to drive his car. IT IS POSSIBLE!
