Just the muffler

I have an 05 lariat screw wtih a 5.4 in it. Can I just replace the stock muffler with an aftermarket muffler to give it a little tougher sound?

Thanks,
Jaybee

Yes

Replaced my stock with a Flowmaster SUV 50 on my previous truck. Sounded great outside with little or no noise inside.

Yes, but the new muffler might be a little shorter so you might need to add some pipe.

Is there one that will just bolt in without having to add pipe?

flowmaster 40 on mine, i love it.I wanted a tougher sound too, just take it down to a muffler shop. they wont charge you much to run the pipe.

That little extra stub of pipe is beans compared to the price of the aftermarket muffler. Just go snag some scrap from a muffler shop.

I had a Magnaflow 14" installed at a local muffler shop with a Magnaflow SS tip for $200 if I remember right. All welded with a 14 day satisfaction guarantee. Very nice tone, no cab noise, but wish it was a tad louder SOMETIMES..
