dont hate me....but - Tire question

Idid alot of searching, anddidnt really find an answer to my specific question, so i'l ask now.

Ok i have an 05 f150 fx4 4x4. 4 door. Im gonn install moto metal 951's 18" rims. with a 2.5" leveling kit from AS or rough country....

Now with these aftermarket 18's will 35" tires fit? or should i just use 33's?

I found this answer on 17's, but didnt find any on aftermarket 18's....TY - Roger

Go with 33's.. Even with the 33's your still gonna have to do some trimming! I just got a set with the Terra Grapplers in 325/60/18.. But its worth the trimming.

Lots of people have/had problems with the 2.5 leveling kits. Might want to consider the 2" and a 1.5" add a leaf for the rear. You will probably want to stick with 33s. It depends on the backspacing of the tire too.

quick question, will it still be OK with a 2" leveing kit? and also, why lift up the back another 1.5" if the purpose of a leveling kit is to level the truck? lifting the rear another 1.5" will "unlevel" it..?

I also remember readng something about how big of a tire you can go andh ow big of a rim depending on your stock stuff? I have 18" rims stock with 275/65/18 tires.... will 33x12.50x18's work? what/where and how much would i have to trim?

I have the 2.5" Autospring kit with 325/60/18 Nitto TG. The only place that I had any rubbing at all was the plastic on the very bottom of the bumper when I was backing out of my driveway and turning left. And it was a very minor rub.

There are a few guys that are running 33's on stock wheels, I know that BalogUk is running 35's on his stock wheels. He said that there is only rubbing at full lock. I also think that Justin is running a 2.5" Autospring kit as well.

Sounds like a nice combo.
As for your question about the rear suspension, it's just personal preference. Some people lift the rear also because they tow/haul heavy loads on a regular basis and don't want their truck to "bulldog" (squat in the rear).

Hey PHS79, what backspacing do you have on your wheels? They come out of the fenders just the right amount.

I just have the stock 5.5" bs. I was going to go with 5 or 4.5, but then I started to think about how often I would have to wash the truck with the wheels sticking out. I have to wash it enough now (1-2 times a week).

I got a 2.5'' Autospring leveling kit installed yesterday. The front now sits .5'' higher than the rear. The total amount of lift was around 3.5'' from a 2.5'' kit. Looks great and you can't even tell there is a 1/2'' difference. I'll take pics soon. Paid $162 total for installation + wheel alignment.
