Smile EDGE programmer....

To all the guys who are talking about going back to an earlier one, how do you do that? This was my first update since I pulled it out of the box in April. Thanks in advance for your help.

RWN... stop. Please?

It is a public forum... but, you know as well as all the others here, there are lines in the sand... you have crossed one of the aforementioned lines. I'm not going to sit in and play referee to immaturity.

I'm not trying to be an a-hole here... quite the contrary... I'm simply trying to keep this thread steered in the EDGE direction and no where else.

Using the lightning software, first make sure you have the latest version of the Lightning software by using the Update feature in the tool. If it needs to update, it will restart the app for you.
At that point, connect up your Edge device to the PC, and choose the Evolution Update. It will search the internet for possible updates and a window should appear with two panes, with a dropdown above each pane. Those dropdowns let you choose which updates you want to download and apply to your device. Once you choose a dropdown item, details about that update will appear in the pane below it.

I know that's a bit vague, but I'm not on my computer right now that has the Lightning software on it.... Hope that helps a little...

Unless something changed in this last Beta version release(I have not downloaded it yet), you can't go back to an earlier version.

I noticed that too when I updated mine for the first time about a month ago. It shows the list of updates, but won't let you download anything but the newest one. I may be doing something wrong though. If anyone knows how to go back with the newest version of the Lightning software please let us know. I'm not necessarily wanting to go back to an older version, but it's one of those nice things to know if I ever decide I need to for some reason.

When I installed mine today I called edge to make sure I did everything right. I was told not to use the beta version, I used firmware version17, calibration version 18, and have no problems at all.

Funny, they told me to use the Beta version, but it was the only one that would work with my truck.

That is possible, if they had to add your HEX code. Do you have an 06?

I think that is why you had to have the latest modification. So that it included the computer codes for the 06.

Ive been wondering when I could or should download the latest update (Beta version as of now), so I sent Edge an email asking them.

The reply I got back was that it was OK to go ahead and download the latest version. They also said that if there was something I didn't like in the latest version that I could back to an older version. I loaded the latest version and will see tomorrow how that works. I seen the older versions were listed, but did not check to see if they would download.

Has anyone out there been running on the latest version (beta 20)?

I've been running the beta version, and haven't had any problems, but I have the 4.6L.
