All I know is if I get in the truck and sit there writing up an invoice, if I set it on anything but full auto it won't cool properly until I start moving. This can't be right? It seems like its maybe cutting out on high pressure or something.

My FX4 does the same thing so I guess its an across the board deal. Oh well I would rather have to do that then have no air at all .

Mine used to do that and it ticked me off but I had my processor reflashed for rough idle and it hasnt done it since. I dont know if the reflash fixed this, but my recirc has NEVER gone off since. xlt and manual controls.

HAH! My 2006 doesn't do that. My 2004 did and it would annoy the hell out of me!

Well, tried this on the way home and didn't work. I had to manually press the recirculate button..

Mine does, especially if it's really hot outside. The system will do whatever it can to cool the cabin to the desired temperature as soon as possible, and that's easier to do on recirculate.

I've figured out that the Auto setting DOES recirculate as needed. When it's blowing hardest it IS recirculating. Relax, and enjoy the auto you paid for.

My Lariat does it! When using the re-circ setting with the defroster it will revert to normal after a period of time. Had it happen while driving through a snow storm in Lake Tahoe this past winter. I had to pull over when the windows fogged up...pushed re-circ again...window cleared again after a few minutes. Real pain!

Regards!

AUTO or not, the recirc button needs to pushed everytime you turn the key on. And when the heater is on, it will kick off for no reason and if your behind a deisel (semi truck) it stinks up your cabin and you know that the recirc just shut off.

Had my truck for a year and a half now and my only real complaint is that the A/C sucks and the controls for it suck.

I took my truck in yesterday because on "Auto" it would not go into re-circ. They said that the whole switch module needed to be replaced.

My EATC works great, I never take it off auto. The only time I hit the re-circulate button manually is when I don’t want the outside air in the cabin for one reason or another (dust, stink, etc)

On startup, if it’s really hot in the cabin the EATC will automatically go to re-circulate after about 2 to 4 min. When I manually click it on it will stay on about 15 to 20 min before turning itself off

Does anyone know if these trucks have a high pressure switch? My compressor will turn off sometimes when I just start the truck and sit idling. The coldest it'll blow is 42 degrees so I don't think it's low.
