I agree, but someone will still argue.

Good find. I only used 5w20 in my current truck and my old 2000 truck had the 5w30 ratings for it but the last 4 years I had that truck. I switched to the 5w20 oil and seen a slight inprovement in gas mileage not enough to write home about, but over time was enough to notice.

I am due for an oil change soon, I have noise.

Only 12,000 miles on the truck.

I know from playing with engines that synthetic oil is not the thing you want to put in a fresh engine, that you are looking for longevity from.

Is it to soon for it at 12K I really never looked into what break-in period is according to ford.

thanks

Whta noise?

My 5.4 sounds like there is an exhaust leak from start-up for about 15 seconds. Tehn it goes away. Is that what you are talking about?

My salesman told me that Ford's don't have a break-in period anymore, that it's been this way for years. I just nodded and said oh yea, but I don't believe it one bit. I changed the oil at 1700 miles and plan on doing it again at 5000.

actually that mobile 1 5w-30 u are using is pi** thin. thinner then any other synthetic 5w30 oil in testes, y i dont know. this is y u actually by mistake are having success with it. when i had my 04 gto it called for 5w 30 synthetic i was told use any 5w 30 synthetic but mobile-1. now mobile 1 is a great oil but for some reason there 5w30 is really thin almost like 5w20.
