Edge Help

I am trying to change my splash screen on my edge and it is not letting me I get as far as uploading it and when I click upload it and it is giving me a run time error 8018. operation only valid when port is open. What am I doing wrong. I even tried upload the screens they give you. Do most people adjust there settings on the computer or in the truck? I saw that custom options editor allows you set all of your settings or should I not touch that? Thanks.

If you didn't return it to stock, than that was your problem.

So you are saying that as a general rule, you should reset the computer back to "stock settings", before you unplug it for updates. Is this listed in the owners manual, or based on real-world experiences. I am getting my Edge tomorrow and want to know upfront.

No, you can't update it without returning it to stock.

How do you verify if updates are available for your edge? I am supposed to get mine today, but don't know how long it has been siting on the shelf @ some warehouse. Since it is fairly new product, (and it is electrical), things have probably changed since original release. I know I need to read the owners manual, but since most of you have been using these for a while, what does experience bring, any know gotcha's.

The latest update came out in June, so chances are the unit will need to be updated when you get it.
