Edge Help
From the EDGE Evolution manual:
.
Version Info This displays the current Bootloader, Firmware, and Calibration versions installed on your Evolution. Your vehicle’s HEX code is also shown. Using the Lightning® software, you will be able to access online updates to ensure your Evolution is always up to date.
Note: Make sure you return your vehicle to stock before attempting an update, or the PC software will not allow you to continue
I got my Edge last week from a vendor that is averaging selling 5 per day, so it should have been "fresh". Mine has a manufactured date of 5/22/06, so I did an immeddiate update before trying to install it.

I received my edge evolution 2 weeks ago with a 5-26-2006 manufacture date and it was behind on updates. They are already upto version 20 on firmware and 21 on calibration. They are both betas but they are the latest.
And yes it is a whole other truck now that I have it a level 2. Can't wait to empty the tank far enough to fill up on 93 octane.

Splash Screen
I am having the same problem when trying to change the splash screen. I set the Evolution back to stock, removed it, and updated it with no problem. But I get an error message that the "port must be open" or something like that whenever I try to change the splash screen.
Has anyone successfully changed it?

2. If running v2.00.xxxx, did you try to update the lightning software again after installing? There was actually one more patch after the install of the full program. I need more info.

Minus 13
Yes its v2.00.0022. Does that help?
Dude, I've done exactly what minus 13 is saying.
Trust me, I've updated my firmware plenty of times before since I was pretty much one of the first people to get the Edge.

When I tried to update mine with the old software in it would tell me that the edge was programmed for level 3. When I would connect it in the truck it would show level 0. Finally I called edge and they told me to download the new software. Everything works great now.

Hey Thumper,
I had a glitch when I was loading mine, but it showed the error message and I just let it work through and it loaded ok.
I can't remember what step it was that Bill told us to give it a few extra seconds to read the truck's hex code or something? But I think that was during the install on the truck and not downloading the update.
Try disarming your security and anti-virus. Always works for me.
