Still no guarantee though. I had a chip fixed about 6 hrs after it happened and then a few days later a crack started to creep out of it anyway. Seems like if it wants to go it's gonna go. Always best to try though!

The windshield was distorted and was causing me problems when I drive. Working nights its annoying seeing three sets of headlights per vehicle.

Do all windshields have this distortion on these trucks? Its really annoying being right in my line of sight. Going to call Monday and get quotes to replace it. Have used Safelite 4 times on various vehicles in the past. Nobody could touch their prices. The guy that did the installing here did a great job.

this is nothing... you should see mine after hurricane wilma 2 years ago...

The replacement window cracked as well about 3 mos after it was installed. They repalced it for free. This one has some of the distortion that the oem one had.

distortion in w/s is generally caused by non carlite(aftermarket-low quality) replacement. i haven't seen many oe carlite replacements have distortion in 15 years of replacing them. overseas manufacturing brands along with safelites' brand are one of the lowest quality replacement w/s out there. remember-just ask for ford branded carlite. it may cost more, but its worth it.

My original windshield was a carlite. The distortion was so bad I got an eye exam. I saw 3 sets of headlites for one car at night and couldn't read freeway signs very well. I knew it was the windshield because in other cars it didnt happen and if i looked higher or lower thena the center it was better. The replacement was a PPG and it was great. The newest windshield is also PPG bit it has slight distortion. They originally brought a Carlite but it was distorted too. The tech who replaced my windhield and has done about 4 others for me over the years said with the new body style the carlites are distorted.
