goodbye for now

i hated it, but after alot of thinking my wife and i traded our 04 in for a Fusion last night. I drive way to many miles a week to get 15-16 miles to the gallon. Gas alone these days are killing us. I have nothing negative to say about my old truck though, it was a great truck and i will miss it very much. Hopefully one day i can get back it one!! Well guys its been great, but so long!!!

The money you lose on a trade-in will pay for gas for the next ten years.

Trading for gas mileage does not make sense.

Friends don't let friends make bad decisions, like this.

12,000 miles for a year for F-150:

12,000 miles/ 16 miles per gallon= 750 gallons X $3.00 per gallon
= $2250 annual cost

__________________________________________________ _____________
12,000 miles for a year for Fusion:

12,000 miles/ 24 miles per gallon= 500 gallons X $3.00 per gallon
= $1500 annual cost

__________________________________________________ _____________

So $2250 for the F-150 $1500 for Fusion now divide that by 12 months= $62.50 more a month to drive a F-150

the whole 4 cylinder thing doesn't bother me because i still have my 91 GT that i still actively race and take out on the weekends and occasionaly to work when i don't have to pick up the kids. I never intended for my truck to be the "performer". All i wanted out of it was it to be dependable, comfortable, and nice; which it did. The bad part about it was that gas cost me nearly $700 a month. if i can cut that to about $400 with the Fusion it will be worth it. With the good deal i got on the Fusion with my trade in i am saving nearly $200 a month on the note. So that is possibly about $500 extra a month. For a guy with a wife a two kids, that kind of extra money will go a long way.

I agree about this being a decision that isn't "cool", but sometimes you have to take one for the team. Take it easy guys.
