i dont reall yknow, but i would try to updateit. It wont hurt it, all it will say is that all downloads are current or up to date

 

it will depend on the manufacture date, it could have been sitting on a shelf since January. Like Gils already said, just load the software and check for updates with your new unit connected and it will tell you if its the latest. The edge works awesome, you'll love it.

 

Just like everyone else already said, go ahead and try it. If not at least you know how the program works, have fun with it!

 

If your hex code was included at the time of manufacture, then you don't necessarily need to update, but the new contrast adjustment in the v20 firmware update is sweet. I now consider the display perfect.

You can load it right out of the box but I would update it so you could get the latest and greatest updates.

 

There is an update v2.0 but it is a BETA test update, I wouldn't download that yet, wait and see if there are any bugs in it. The latest version is Firmware 17 and Calibration 18a
