How to improve my gas mileage for descent money??

Hey I have a 04 f150 4x4 and I want to get my mileage up a little......I was thinking about throwing in a Edge tuner and a intake(dont know which intake if you guys could tell me which would be best).....how much more MPG should I expect to see on those.....mind taht I dont have big rubber or anything on the truck just ordering some 24's in a month or so and want to see some better mileage thanks guys and gals

Drive slower. No mod is going to be able to offset the cost of the part to the gas savings, unless you keep the car for 30+ years.

Lol what?? according to other people them getting intakes and the tuner they say they get about 2.5-3mpg more and I say that is worth spending the $300 on the tuner and $300 on the intake for that gain

Efans and u/d pulleys will be the best mods for MPG and add decent peformance gains. Efans and a tuner if you are shooting for more features (speedo correction, shift point, etc). I like my intake and think it helps in the grand scheme of things, kind of like the exhaust, but the performance gains there, especially in MPG, are minimal at best. Just my experience so far. Beyond that, yes driving and tire pressure are the best cheap/free ways to help you MPG and will probably contribute the most overall but aren't nearly as fun.

I have the Edge and an intake (volant) have seen MAYBE a 1/2 mpg increase but the increase in HP offsets that for me. Some of those guys getting a 2-3 MPG increase must have an egg between their foot and accelerator pedal!
The cheapest way to help mileage is to keep tires inflated to the max and keep it aligned.

Has anyone tried a throttle body spacer? They seem pretty cheap but not sure of the gains

Hate to admit it but I let my curiosity get the better of me and tried the Airaid TBS, sold it within 6 weeks, no gains in MPG or SOTP performance that I saw and the whistling drove me Nuts!

I had an Airaid intake and Magnaflow catback exhaust and only got around 0.5 to 1mpg increase at the most. This is for all city driving. I have since sold them both.

Basically the same as everyone else. Even with my exhaust and Edge programmer I have seen very little increase in mileage, lucky thats not what I bought either of them for!!
