Personally I haven't done that particular part of the install... but I know the keypad is plugged into a harness just like the windows and door locks. How the keypad stays secure in the handle I can only assume it will be another clip like the lock cylinder. I know some of the other guys on here have done this so maybe they can chime in as I would like to know this as well. I'll be ordering the LT handles for my FX4 sometime in the near future and if I can save $40 by using the same keypad that would be sweet. Or when you get em in you can let us all know... two words... GUINEA PIG

Damnit! I hate being the guinea pig!!! Ill probably just spend the extra 40 bucks and buy them with the pad isntalled already. If its pre-installed do I need to reprogram the code again?

Yup but it's easy... just follow the instructions in your owners manual.

Ya but I think that keypad is like $85 or so isn't it? I know there is one that is cheaper that has just an empty hole and you use your existing keypad. I know there is like 3 different online vendors to get these from though so I maybe wrong.

That's what I thought when I got mine, but both sides were the same price (prices comparable to what 04procompLARIAT posted) . I definately got the one with the keypad. Maybe black is less expensive than the others?

Mine came pre-installed and I didn't have to reprogram my code again. I would think it is stored in the computer not the little plastic pad. As for swapping your key pad into a empty handle...that shouldnt be a problem at all. There are just some little plastic lock clips that hold it in place. You would just pop yours out of your old handle and pop it into this new one. If I could have saved a few bucks doing that when I got mine I would have been all over it.

On another note, you are really making too much out of this. If you can install a lift this really will be easy for you. Don't let the directions intimidate you, because once you get in there it will make a lot more sense to you!
