When is it going to end? I'd like to order mine as late as possible, so keep posting updates on the group buy. Thanks!

life expectancy....well considering the Mark viii e-fans still work fine ten yrs later is a good indication.

when a motor is turning not under its own power there is alot less wear than itself being powered. there's current going through the brushes, heat, arcing, carbon buildup. if a fan is being turned by wind, there's just friction/heat on the brushes.

Before anyone jumps on the group buy band wagon, check out this guys eBay store:

http://stores.ebay.com/AUTOMOTIVE-AC...QQftidZ2QQtZkm

Looks like he has the same style 16" fans for $35 a piece. I bought a set of 16" Zirgos for $49 a piece from him.

E...

Before you jump into E-Fans make very, very sure you pick a redundant controller setup. There is nothing worse than blowing a controller in the summer only to be able to go 5 miles at a time before it overheats....

If you are buying E-Fans for making AC blow cooler I would have second thoughts....
And make Damn Sure you purchase them from a reputable company that has excellent support.....

Did I mention Troyer's controllers have both broke on me? They are known for breaking so controller quality should be something to look for in these kits. You won't even need fans unless you're idling, you can travel with your radiator doing the cooling.

can you find and link me to the thread? Are you saying Troyer is sending out replacement controllers if you have the common pot breaking issue? I somehow doubt it as Troyer was confronted with the problem and quoted as saying it takes a good amount of "abuse" to bust these temperature pots.

Yes Bob is very reliable, I have ordered numerous things from him, and have had no problems other than a set of Harley keys disapearing in the mail which he promptly took care of.

I am interested in the e-fans as well, as i think with my ram air and stuff i allready have, i should be able to get even more out of my truck. I dont use the AC, so that will never be an issue for me.
