I just ordered a 5x7 adapter for a 6 1/2'' speaker plate online. When it arrived the speakers fit perfect in it but the adapter was too wide in the center to fit in the speaker space in the door. I just took my dremel and sanded the center part of the adapter down so that there was still room to mount the speaker as well as fit in the door space. Works perfect no rattling or noise and I have a pretty good amount of watts going to them.
