Just got back in from wrapping it up, I used a wide pipe clamp with a small rubber notch insert to go inside the crack, the clamps inner lining is rubber. I then duct taped around that for added peace of mind. This won't prevent flexing so much as it will prevent debris like sand from getting in there. If any of you cali guys knows a good junk yard with newer cars on the lot, let me know. I'm a little desperate to get it for cheap.

Josiah, I know you're going to hate me for this but I told you so!

Well, at least you knew you were going to break some sooner or later.

Try AutoGator 1-800-833-9292. They're in Roseville which I think is somewhere close to you, outside SF? Anyway I got my xlt console off them and a few days later they listed the truck for parts on ebay for parts, 05 screw XLT. It was a rollover so the top half was demolished. Worth a shot anyhow.

Dude, with all due respect, you've just dumped a huge load of cash on a lift, tires, wheels, etc, what's another $500 so's that you don't go flying into the ditch or running over someone when the rack completely fails? Suspension and steering parts are mission critical stuff, they ain't meant to be welded, taped, clamped, or otherwise rigged.

You're an angel Quintin, unfortunately I'm not. I am however, a reckless kid out to ruin someones life and make their family rich. I really don't know how the rack could fall apart as it sits right now, it's just hard to fathom. If it does happen (god forbid), you jinxed me and I want legal action taken. Just wish me a safe trip and pray for those in the oncoming lanes (it should not further damage itself other than slamming it into a rock). I'd hate to leave these boring guys alone with eachother anyway, thats how brokeback mountain material is made. I am volunteering sirshan to tow me home if I do break it on the beach (once again, not a question).

I think it's safe to say this is the only Lariat to ever see duct tape

Man, you can still go without driving yourself from the ditch into the hospital. Just have someone pick you up. Don't drive her like that.

Ha...thats a good one. My truck is 1/4 of the size of yours. It would look pretty sick *** to have my non-raised truck pulling that beast.

Hey, at least I could put the "Tow 2 Tune" to the test on the Edge...

You'll be fine. Ill just be sure to stay behind or keep my distance while driving.

Angel? Far from it.

At least my !@#! is in proper running order. And at least if it wasn't, I wouldn't be running it on public roads. Best of luck to you.

SS/T, you really need to lighten up a little. If any of you Pismo attendees are this boring, save yourself some gas and sleep in tomorrow. It's like you pride yourself on killing every joke I make, good God.

And quintin, I'm sure everyone is flattered you sit on your computer thinking about their safety.

And for all you haters, I had it welded...do I have your blessing to attend the pismo meet.

You shouldn't have started the thread if you didn't want to hear the comments...as usual.

And given that I see vehicles that don't have any business being on the road day in and day out, yeah, I am worried about safety. Not necessarily yours or the guy next to me, but mine when his ragged out POS breaks and comes careening into me.

We now return to your regularly scheduled hate thread.
