How To Removed Emblems

How can i remove the rear tailgate f150 emblem and the fender emblems? I want to put LT tailights on the tailgate? HAs anyone done this? Isst there a hold behind the f150 emblem on the tailgate and fender? Is it hard to put the lt emblems on the fenders ...any drilling required?

Removal will result in mounting holes being exposed but, I'm not sure if the LT lights (which I don't think are functional on the tailgate are they?) will cover them.

To remove, simply get out the hair dryer and take your time... heat them up and gently begin peeling it back and off.

Some 20lb test fishing line also helps after heating up the badge.

Rock,

The LT tailgate portion of the lights are merely reflectors. It would look kind of crazy to have that wide of a light light up, IMO.

To the OP,

Fishing line + hairdryer = your best friend. Be careful with the F150 and Ford emblems in that they have pins sticking into the bed. Don't want to cut the fishing line and have to start again!

I second that!

I used a couple of screw-driver drill bits to wrap the line around to make "handles" on each end to work the line through with...

After heating the emblems, work the line in each side of the emblem using a gentle back and forth motion. Then work the line in on the top and bottoms. The emblem will come right off with a tug after you break up the 3m tape.

There will be three holes behind your F150 emblem, but the LT reflectors will cover them.

I've been wanting to take off my rear f150 emblem, but not if there are holes behind it.
