Smashed Drivers side mirror

I just went mirror to mirror with another truck. Has anyone had to replace there drivers side mirror? Was it hard? A quick google search found some good deals but they didn't have the turn signal built in. Anyone know of a good deal? Thanks

I just saw a show this past weekend that showed how to replace f-150 mirror. Looked pretty easy. Pull door panel off, 3-4 bolts unplug mirror, install new one.

Some lady in a Chebby Silverado hit my mirror like that coming down a narrow road. Busted her mirror up pretty good, mine just folded in..no damage.

While I have not checked the '04 directions to what is actual, the '99 to '03 directions were correct for door panel and mirror removal.

Here is the URL for the pdf of the 04+ mirror removal directions from Muth

Right click -> Save Link as
http://www.muthco.com/techsupport/pdfs/21000960.pdf

Good luck finding a mirror that does not cost a bunch...bone yard maybe ??

BTW : Muth is the company that made the first set of signal in the glass for Ford back in the late 90s. These are the glass mounted signals, not the mirror head mounted ones.

to replace mirror is very simple. remove speaker cover 1st by prying with small flat blade screwdriver in the 1 oclock postion on door, you will see a small indentation where to insert screw driver, then remove 4 bolts holding speaker in. once removing speaker take out bottom 2 speaker retainers. Then pry up on cover that houses mirror switch and window switch. once that part is removed there is a 10mm bolt in there to remove. next remove cover from behind inner door handle then there are 2 8mm bolts there. once that is removed there are 2 bolts on bottom of door not sure on size. then lft up on door panel to remove. once door panel is removed the door handle is still attached you can removed by prying on clip that hold it to door panel. once panel is off you will see the plug and 3 nuts that hold mirror on. If you need a mirro I do have one from my truck. I replaced my mirrors with lt mirrors. I have the original if interested. you can email me at rphelps@termcorp.com

Someone hit mine while parked...cost me $30.00 or so to replace from Ford. Simple install...mine was not heated mirror or anything, just a plain old mirror.

I had mine hit while parked by a passing motorhome--whacked the mirror and looked like picture posted. I watched the body shop guy do the replacement and it seemed simple to do.

The thing I noticed was it looked like the wired were there for the heat and the turn signal in the harness that went from the control switch to the mirror even thought on my PWT 2006 FX4 I only got the power mirror option.

Lookes like a heated/signal would be plug and play. Does that sound correct ?

The heated mirrors have a button for them. The wiring harness might work for the signals, but I doubt it will for the buttons without a way to turn them on.
