That should be covered under the warranty (assuming you are under the mileage limit). I'd talk to the manager and complain to them that it should be covered.

yeah i just called and talked to a manager at the dealer (chevy), he's going to look into my situation, they said sometimes dealers purchase warrenty's through indenpendent company's, and sometiems they dont cover things like this... its crap~.. i'm calling the dealer where we purchased originally, and see if i can take it there .. make them fix it, or cover it.. its only has 40 k on it.. and i have 100,000 mile warrenty...just bull..

It's been my experience that most used cars have warranties or warranties are purchased for that vehicle through a third party and every last thing on that vehicle is covered until something breaks. At the exact time it breaks, that particular part is no longer covered under the umbrella of the warranty.

This is why I despise some dealers.

check your owners manual.

Things like airbags and exhaust have warranties longer than 3/36

If you cant afford the $500 buying a new truck is an even worse decision.

I would agree....check with GM, safety equipment may have a longer warranty.

GOOD NEWS!... they are replacing it all for free! (under gm warrenty). .. But it took a phone call to the server consultant's manger, and a call to the finance manager where i purchased the truck from!...he just called me back, oh were now gonna replace it under gm warrenty!.. THEN... get this.. he's like , oh and your inspection is out at the end of the mth, and we can do it here, but you will need new wipers to pass. i'm like what>?.. he's like yeah they are cracking..(it will cost you 30$) i'm thinkin.. this kat's trying to play me for a fool!.. i was like.. f that.. just fix my airbag, and i'll be by later to pick it up..... the nerve!!

i feel so much better, wife and son are safe again... but i hate being "that guy", but sometime you just have to step outside of the lines to get crap done

thanks for listing to my rant!

Glad to hear you are getting it fixed. Sometimes you just have to be that "Pain in the ***" customer to get things taken care of. Then again, maybe you shouldn't have gotten a GM product either.

Good to hear they are going to fix it. Tell them you will bring the new wipers down and slap a new sticker on the winshield.

I haven't read this entire thread, only the original post, but that's rediculous.

With Ford I beleive they will cover anything with the restraints system under warranty forever regardless of miles.
