LOL! Aight guys, I'll keep you posted, so far I have had only one problem and that is due to the nature of HID's. They are prone to have starting issues when turned off and back on really fast, OR if the voltage drops too low. I had my lights on auto and fogs on, so when I unlock it, these things would fire up (man it looks so cool!). When I got in the truck and started it (lights still on) the left one shut off. I turned them off and back on and it fired right back up. I read the instalation manual and it said turning them on or off rapidly OR low voltage would cause it to shut off for safety reasons until they are turned off and on again after a few seconds. So I will have to just wait till it is running to turn em on or the voltage drop from starting will probably shut them off again. I did, however, have a good drive last night and I cannot believe how great these things are. Words cannot explain the quality of the light on the road in front of me. I get a perfect SUPER-BRIGHT clean light pattern with no hotspots and a clean, sharp cut off right below on-comming traffic's field of vision. Got no high beams flashed at me either. I will now have to do that mod that leaves the fogs on with the high beams so when I turn on my high beams, I won't loose that awesome light. High beams are still a necessity on open dark roads, because like I said, these things still only shine right down in front of you so they don't blind people. So far I am really impressed. I would also recommend going with 5000K max, 6000K will be bluer, and these have a great balance of white/blue already. Definitelly noticeable!! I'll get pics maybe tommorow of the cutoff on a white wall or something.

I wouldnt be concerned about the ehat issues with HIDS.. Hid lighting runs alot cooler than halogen bulbs.. you would have a better hcance of melting something with halogen bulbs than HIDS. I was going to do this same exact mod in the near future.. But I went with a pair of 6" daylighters.. which then I might do the HID fog light conversion to match my HID headlights...
Yeah if you turn your HID bulbs on without the truck running you get quite the light show..... I had my headlights on auto when I first installed them and whenever I unlocked my truck they would flicker pretty good.. I always had people stare at me like WTF is that.. so I dont put them on Auto anymore...

Seems like a great mod given how good the cutoff looks to be! Do they really run cooler? That is exactly my concern: melting the housings.
If I do this I'll keep my stock headlights and will want a color to match from the fogs, would that be a 3000k, a 4000k or some other HID? I'm not doing any headlight bulb that doesn't last 1500+ hours so stock it is so I want to match that.

Yes HID bulbs run alot cooler than halogen. I beleive that most HIDS run at 35W while most Halogens are more than that... My fog lights are 100W aftermarket and there is no melting of the housing.... I wish I could find where I read that from but it is true.. I wouldnt not worry about melting any housings. In fast my father in law has an F250 and he has HIDS installed in his stock fog light housings and he has had no problems and he runs his HIDS day and night.. And as for long lasting.. HIDS will last alot longer then Halogen as long as you treat them the same as halogen bulbs.. Dont touch the glass and dont shake them or throw them and so forth..
As for the Auto.... Yes I dont put my headlights on the Auto position anymore and the headlight flickering when unlocking the doors at night went away... I never really likes having the lights on auto anyways.. I am pretty good with turning my lights on when it gets dark and I normally will run my parking lights and fog lights during the day as my daytime running lights...

actually mine dont flicker either if I turn the switch on for my headlights.. They only flicker when I have my light switch on Auto and I unlock the truck at night...
Thanks for the explanation about how they run cooler, that's good to know.
- As for the voltage drop/flickering issue: with HIDS in the fogs why can't you leave the headlights set to Auto just not pulled out for the fogs? Leave the fogs as the manual part, you'll just have to remember to manually push in the **** to turn them off when you shut off the truck...

But if you are only doing fogs then you can leave the switch on AUto
