Side Mirrors Reverse Auto-Adjust, Feature Avaliable?

I had herd so, but am not sure. The feature basically involved two settings for your electric side mirrors, one for normal driving and another that they move to when you shift into reverse, so you can see the curb/pavement lines behind you w/o stopping to adjust the mirrors yourself. I just bought an 06 SCrew XLT w/o the power mirror option (d'oh!), which I believe has this feature (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Does anybody know how to add it? I'd assume it's a second memory setting somewhere, possibly just dormant in the ECU at some level that just needs to be activated. If I'm going to have to switch mirrors to do so, I'd rather get the Lariat style heated power folding ones w/ turn signals on them, anyone have part #'s ?

I wouldn't mind adding the power folding option too, but I believe thats covered in another active thread, and they solved that particular problem.

Thanks for any help guys.

This is not an option on any F-150 AFAIK. I think you're thinking higher-end like Lexus, BMW, etc...

I suppose you could probably add it aftermarket, but it may require some extensive wiring. I have a Lariat and mine doesn't do **** when you put it in reverse.

No the F150's don't have it. They have power folding mirrors and only on the King Ranch.

I had this option on my 03 Seirra and loved it. I wish Ford would do the same.

My wife has an 03 Lincoln Aviator and it does it. It is a really nice feature, along with defrosting mirrors.

I need more details on the folding mirrors, here I come search feature!

'03 Expeditions and Navigators and some early build '04s had reverse tilt mirrors. They were later deleted in mid-late build '04 and newer models, because Ford could never get the programming right in the Expygators. They'd do weird things like go up instead of down when shifting into reverse, or popping constantly going full right or full left or other stupid stuff like that.

My friends Expy was a 2004, and yes it did some wierd things from time to time. You would think the programing would be easy to figure out. I just wish I could have access to reprogram stuff like that on my truck, some of the stuff I would do...
