Is this normal wear or is it defective? Leather Seat

My drivers side seat has been like this since the truck had 1000 miles on it. Now I've got 13K and wondering if this is normal or something that is defective in the foam breaking down. My 98 F150 had leather and it never did this with over 50K on the clock. Thanks,

Looks very normal to me. Leather is skin... skin stretches...

Looks like you slide in and out. That is why the side of the seat bottom closest to the door looks that way.

That's normal wear as far as I am considered.

Try using the grab handle to get in and out or the step bars so that you do not slide your bottom across the seat but sit down onto the seat.

try getting in the other way. I slide in my seat and mine don't look like that. but if your 5'2 and 350 lbs maybe that could be it.

i dont think its the foam. im an upholsterer and have seen worse. leather does stretch significantly. especially if youre a bit on the portly side.

Thats kinda weird. I've got 42,000 miles on mine and it looks like the day I drove it home. I know my leather is different than yours, but still.....

If the truck is lifted it will wear. Thats normal of a sky truck.

I've really been mindful of how I get in and out of my truck so I don't slide in/out. I ruined two seats in my lowered S-10 with the sliding.

Lots of factors influence wear etc. What I noticed on mine is that it is softer than some others I have had. The softer leather is more prone to wear, krinkles etc. than the harder, thicker leather.

Looks like you 'slide' off the seat getting out of the truck. Try stepping on to the running board/side step then step down when you get out so you will stop crushing the seat edge.

I disagree. I had the same problem with my 2001 supercrew with leather, and took it back to the dealer and they replaced the seat cushion. I currently have a 2005 with 4000 miles and i have cloth seats and the drivers side is doing the same thing as yours. I try to use the step tube to get in and out of the truck as much as possible. I just think that these seats are not strong enough for a 235 pound guy period! Mine will be going in for a cushion replacement/repair in the next week or so...
